This past winter, I had to check myself into the Duncan Hines/Betty Crocker Rehab in Los Angeles, California. I've been battling an addiction to cake. Yes-you may recall stories of the Duncan/Betty rehab last fall, as this is the same rehab center that was populated by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's triplet (bet you didn't know they another sister) Chelsea Olsen. But this blog post isn't supposed to be about how the Olsen's parents gave all their kids white-blonde girl names. This is about a very serious issue that is often ignored in the world.
As a former cake addict myself, I just wanted to let you know-if you are addicted to cake, it will be okay. If you can't go an hour without cake, or ten minutes without cake-it's time to get help. Did you just pull a cupcake out of your purse in the library? Are you lying to your partner about how much cake you are consuming daily? I can help. Reach out to me, because you are not alone. There are millions of cake addicts in North America. Yes-Canadians reading this-I know you think of cake addiction as something American, but I assure you, there are tons of cake addicted people all around Canada and Mexico, and with our love and support, we can get them off the streets. We can get them to stop robbing bakeries. We can get them to stop shooting icing into their veins, and buying red velvet from dealers. We can do it, but we need to do it together.
